One Step Beyond Coaches and History

Coach Daniel Scagnelli has been coaching people towards their health and fitness goals since 2005. He prides himself on building relationships with his athletes in order to ensure that their goals are met safely, effectively and injury free. Most importantly, he wants to make sure that your sport endeavors continue to be fun and rewarding.

Daniel feels that his role as a coach is that of an educator. His aim is to provide you with all of the tools necessary to accomplish anything you seek to achieve. This includes providing you with sound, science based, periodized planning and direction, open and direct communication, continuous support, and the tracking, analysis, feedback and reinforcement you need to ensure you are positioned to take your performance goals to the next level.

Daniel is active on the IOS NCTS, has successfully competed at the Ironman distance, has many ultra endurance race finishes, and frequently competes in endurance events of all disciplines including trail running, road running, and the gamut of cycling disciplines.

In addition to endurance coaching, Daniel is a full-time health and fitness professional and has been active in management roles for the past four years of his career. Daniel holds a BS in Business Administration, an MS in Exercise Science, and is a certified USA Triathlon coach. He is recognized as a Clinical Exercise Specialist (CES) by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) and is a Certified Personal Trainer through the American Council on Exercise.

Daniel’s combination of practical and professional experience combined with his educational background position him as an elite coach for athletes of all disciplines. Additionally, his understanding of what it is like to balance life’s many responsibilities with training goals allows him to directly relate to working professional athletes and helps them to obtain that important work-life-training balance.

Daniel’s bottom line goal is to provide you with unparalleled service because he truly cares about his athletes and the results that he helps them to achieve.

When he is not working or training himself, Daniel enjoys spending time with his wife and young son, two beagles, and a fluffy white cat, Casper. He and his wife enjoy traveling, hiking, camping, and soaking up the outdoors in whatever way they can.
