Athletic Background
Survived the blistering 35+ MPH winds and searing heat of the lava fields all due to Marty's sage advice. ;)

Consummate weekend warrior, wine and stogie quaffer and maniacal golfer until the mid-30s waistline got mushy. Hired Mad Marty three years ago to whip me back into shape, turning me into a tri-junkie:

Personal

Married to Christine (a tennis star and the real athlete of the family), with a precocious 6-year old future tri-star named Nicholas (Christmas baby). Partner at Broad and Cassel, a statewide law firm. Staring 40 years old straight in the face and going down fighting. Bleeding heart liberal to the death.

2005 Goals

Primary goal is to enjoy the sport, taking some downtime after two IMs in one year. Racing the Disney Half and then Alcatraz. Focusing on some bike races as well, placing 2nd, 4th and 9th and my first three bike races this year.

My Weaknesses:

Running. I really dislike running! I'm also addicted to chocolate.

My Strengths:

I seem to enjoy pain in an odd sort of way. I also seem to enjoy stress. Need little sleep. The bike is, by far, my best discipline.

Why OSB?:

Marty's long-time contribution to the sport. Displays intelligence in planning and sequencing workouts. I've Pr'd every race under him. 'Nuff said.
